Login and Registration Issues:

1. Hi, I am new to India Forums. Do I need to register at all? If so Why?

It is not compulsory that you need to Register in. You can visit the Forum as a Guest too. However, Registration will give you access to additional features not available to guest users. Some topics like Updates and Announcements of New Features are usually Tagged under “Members Only” category. So, you might miss out on these if you are NOT a Member. You will also be missing definable Private Messaging etc. Come on my dear friends, it only takes a few minutes to register, so we recommend you to do so. .

2. I have Registered in . What will be my next step?

You now need to introduce yourself in the New Members Intro Section. After doing so, please feel free to enter the Section you like.

3. I am registered, but cannot Login?.

Please check whether you are entering the right Username and Password.

4. I am not able to Login, it says Cookie Problem. What do I do?

In this case, you need to clear off all the Cookies in your system. Please follow this: Go to Tools, Select Internet Options, Click Delete Cookies, say Yes to Delete, Click on Clear History, Click on OK. Try logging in again into IF.

5. I have lost my Password!!!! What now?

Don’t panic!!! While your password cannot be retrieved, it can be reset. To do this, you have to go to the Login Page, Click Forgotten Password. Please do enter your User Name and the E-mail ID you have given in your Profile. If you have NOT given the ID, please give the frequently used Email ID, then write the ID here. You will get a mail after the reset of your Password.

6. I registered in the past, but cannot Login anymore!

The most likely reasons for this are: you entered an incorrect Username and Password.(If this is the case, Refer Point 5) or the Administrator might have deleted your account for some reason. Contact Forums Site Admin to find out why you can’t Login.

7. How do I change my User name, whom should I contact?

Please write a Private Message to the Administrator, for change of User name.

Login and Registration Issues:

1. How do I post a Topic in a Forum?

Very Simple – Once you Register and are Logged in, go to the Forum where you wish to post a Topic. Click the New Topic which is present in all Sections.

2. How do I Edit or Delete a post?

Unless you are the Forum Admin Section you cannot edit or delete your own post. After edition, your username and the time of Edition will be shown after the post. Please note that a Normal User CANNOT edit or delete a post once someone has replied.

3. How do I add a Signature to my Post?

To add a Signature to your post, you first need to create one. Please refer Point 7 for changing Settings. Once the Signature is created, check the Always Attach my Signatures to posts.

4. How do I vote a Poll?

Easy – go to the Forum where you wish to vote a Poll. Click vote button to  Poll which is present in  Sections. You can vote only one time. 

Private Messaging:

1. I need to know the features in Private Messaging.

Private Meessenger enables you to Send and Receive Private Messages between yourself and other Fourm Members, this will not be known to the other members or the forum.

Inbox: Here, you can view all your Incoming Private Messages from where you can view or delete the messages you have received. This works very much like your Mail “Inbox”.

Outbox: Here, you can view the Outgoing Private Messages that you have sent to other members. These messages remain in your Outbox until the recipient deletes your messages.

Buddy List: This is like an Address Book. You can Add or Delete Forum Members to your Buddy List for quick Reference. You can Block those members you do not wish to receive Private Messages from.

2. What is the limit on Private Messages?

A person can Have a Maximum of 250 Private Messages in his Inbox at a time. If the Receiver’s Inbox is full, a member will not be able to send Messages to him. The Sender will get a message, The Receiver’s Inbox is Full

I cannot Send Private Messages!!

There are Two reasons for this; you have to be Logged in to send a Message or there might be a problem for which you need to contact your Section Mod or Administrator.
